Trays of Kenyan food, for a table full of people
Nyumbani Vibes Foods cooks Kenyan and East African food in trays for events across Budapest — church lunches, birthdays, baby showers, graduations and office tables. Quantities are agreed before anything goes on the stove, the food travels hot and sealed, and it reaches all 23 districts.
What we cater
Church and community events
Potlucks, baptisms, fellowship lunches. Trays that hold their heat, with serving spoons, and a Friday delivery when the event falls on the Sabbath.
Birthdays and baby showers
One hot dish, one starch, a salad and something fried. Add a cake and the table is done.
Graduations
Ballagás season fills fast. Book the date before you finalise the menu.
Office lunches
Something other than sandwiches, delivered to the office at an agreed hour, in trays that serve a whole team.
How much food per guest
A planning guide, not a price list. Send your headcount and the quantities get set properly for your table.

|---|---|
| Rice or pilau | 250–300 g cooked per adult |
| Chapati | two per adult, three if they are the main starch |
| Stew or curry | 200–250 g per adult |
| Greens or salad | 80–100 g per adult |
| Samosa or mandazi | two to three per person as a snack |
| Cake | one kilo serves eight to ten |
The Sabbath, and what it means for your date
The kitchen is closed all day Saturday. If your event is on a Saturday, the food is cooked on Friday and delivered on Friday — trays keep well overnight in a cool room, and reheat cleanly. Sunday events are cooked fresh on the day.
Questions
How much food do I need per guest?
Count roughly 250–300 g of cooked rice or pilau per adult, 200–250 g of stew, two chapatis and a small serving of greens. The table below sets it out dish by dish.
Can you cater a church event in Budapest?
Yes. Potlucks, baptisms and fellowship lunches are regular work. Food arrives in trays that hold their heat, with serving spoons. If the event is on a Saturday, it is cooked and delivered on Friday.
How much notice do you need for catering?
As early as you can, and at minimum several days. Large trays and weekend dates need more warning than a single family order.
What does catering cost?
Every order is quoted individually in forint, because it depends on the dishes and the headcount. Send the number of guests and a rough menu and the total comes back the same day.
Do you deliver catering across Budapest?
Yes, to all 23 districts, Buda and Pest alike. Collection from Erzsébet krt. 19 in District VII is also possible by arrangement.
Is there vegetarian and vegan food for a mixed table?
Yes. Beans in coconut is vegan; sukuma wiki, kachumbari, chapati, ugali and vegetable samosa are all meat-free. Say so when ordering and the pans are kept separate.
